WARNING: CONTAINS MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR THE PORTAL SERIES! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
For those of you who have played through Portal 2, you'll know know that GLaDOS was originally Caroline downloaded into a computer.
But did you really think she was the only one who had that done to her?
Lets take a step back for a moment & look at Portal 1
Back when Portal was new, the offical site contained a number of documents and messages hinting to the running of Aperture, as written by Cave Johnson (Yes, he was mentioned back in Portal 1)
One of the "memos" noted the ideal test subjects for Aperture.
These being Insane Asylum in-mates, Orphan Children & the elderly.
Now, let us look at the Personality Cores attached to GLaDOS during her boss fight:
Anger Core: A Slavering, Screaming Maniac (Insane Asylum In-mate)
Curiosty Core: a innocently curious with a childish and playful nature (Orphaned Child)
Intelligence: An incoherient Rambler, who seems not to know what its one about (Senile Elder)
It seems its quite easy to make comparisons... But what about Portal 2?
Do you remember who were some of the first test subject were for Aperture?
Astronauts, War Heroes & Olympians
Now, let us look at the cores in Portal 2, shall we?
Space Core: Utterly fixated upon space (Astronaut)
Adventure Core: Wild, rugged and an active infusium (Olympian)
Fact Core: Jaded, Seemingly Intelligent, however its knowledge is squed (War Hero)
But what of Wheatley & the Morality Core you ask?
Wheatley is most likely to have been one of the lab boys, judging from his knowledge of the Labs (Greg, who appears in the Perpetual testing innotive seems as fitting match) and as for the Morality Core, I can only guess...
And my guess would be they managed to Glem a tiny part of Cave Johnson's mind & placed it within the Morality Core. What makes me think this? Because GLaDOS is Caroline & Cave was the person she respected (Maybe even Loved the most) making his voice the most efficent for calming her down. Also, if the Morality core did contain a bit of Cave, it also explains why it allowed her to still perform those torturous tests, because Cave enjoys burn people too~
And this also brings me to another point & this is the bit most would find... Unsettling
The Turrets
Those Happy, Adorable, fun loving turrets who you slaughter on your way through an average run of Portal.
What of them?
Answer me this: Do they share any... Simularities to any of the Personality Cores?
They do, don't they~
Thats right~
The Curiosty Core, who I have already stated was once a child~
This would mean that anyone who kills a Turret is Murdering a child
Then there's the fact, we know that there was a good number of children at Aperture at the time of GLaDOS' awakening: Bring your Daughter to work Day~
So its not so farfecthed an idea that Chell, who's name can be seen among the science projects in the "Nursery", is murdering her former Class mates
Another possiblility is that they are all the same childs, who has had its mind Copy Pasted in order to mass produce turrets, thus ripping its soul into millions of tiny pieces for science.
Also, a reactionary child is perfect for a defense turret, wouldn't you say?
But what of the defective turrets you say?
You say the pile of defective Cores, no?
Just before the Wheatley battle?
Is it so out there to suggest one of their Personalities may have worked their way into the production line by mistake?
Just something to thing about~
